Rachel Baran

Rachel Baran is one of my favourite artist, she is a source of constance inspiration for me. She creates self-portraits in the style of Cindy Sherman but with a surrealist twist. Her body of work is extraordinary especially for a young artist. I want to have a body of work with a big a range and the level of quality as her’s. She has inspired me to create a lot more work but to make sure I also don’t loose the quality of the work in the process.

Her work always has this balance of light and dark I find incredible especially in self portraiture, she is a very skilled artist with what seems to be a limitless imagination and a ability to reinvent her self image at will. I have been looking at her in great detail for a range of new projects I am working on.
